As a valued Spartan volunteer, you'll receive the following:

VOLUNTEER SHIRT: You will receive your volunteer shirt when you check in for your shift at the volunteer tent on the day of your shift. At most events, you will have the option of a short-sleeve or long-sleeve shirt. (You keep the shirt!) Size options may be available during registration or on-site.
Meals and Refreshments: Snacks will be available at check-in. A light lunch (typically a sandwich) will be provided around lunchtime for all shifts except the Early Morning and Packet Pick-up shifts. Water will be available throughout your shift. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles. If you have specific dietary restrictions or require additional food, please plan to bring your own.
Race Discount Codes:
- Volunteering and Racing the Same Weekend:
  - Pre-race and Post-race shifts: You can typically race on the same day as your shift, either in the morning or afternoon.
  - Sprint and Super races: Most volunteers can race on the same day as their shift, either before or after.
  - Ultra & Beast races: Same-day racing is generally not possible. Please plan to race on a different day of the event.
  - Discount Application: If you choose to volunteer and race on the same day, an email containing available heat times, racing options, and your race discount code will be sent the week of your volunteer shift. This email will also include a link to sign up in advance.
  - Volunteer Race Heats: These are pre-determined and vary per race.
  - Signing Up Prior to Your Volunteer Shift: Please select a heat that allows you to complete your entire volunteer shift. After registering, claim your race ticket and proceed to check in with your ID.
  - Signing Up On-Site: You can scan a QR code at the Volunteer tent to register for a race.
  - Administration Fee: A $16 administration fee applies to all volunteers who use their discount code for a race at the same event where they volunteered.
  - Code Expiration: Your email will specify the date by which you must use your code to register for an event in the same or the following year.
- Volunteering and Saving Your Code for a Future Event:
  - To receive a future race code, you MUST check in at the beginning of your shift and check out with the Volunteer Coordinator at the end of your shift. Failure to complete your shift will result in not receiving a code.
  - Your code will be emailed to you on the Friday following the event weekend.
  - To register for a future race, visit spartan.com and enter your code in the "Promo code" field.
  - Volunteer codes are valid for Open Heats only, and standard race fees will apply during registration.

Additional Important Information Regarding Race Codes:

If you are racing before your volunteer shift, you DO NOT need to check in at the Volunteer Tent first. Go directly to registration.
If you'd like to race in a heat not offered, you can request this with the registration staff, but it is not guaranteed.
IMPORTANT: You MUST check out with the Volunteer Coordinator at the end of your shift to receive your perks! You will not receive these perks if you do not complete your entire volunteer shift.

Information for Unbreakable Pass Holders:

Unbreakable Pass holders have to complete a full day shift to be able to claim credit towards their pass.

Perk codes will be sent by email on the Friday after the event you volunteered at.
Volunteer Merch Codes can only be applied to Online Store orders with a $100 total minimum.
