What is a Spartan Trail race?
Spartan Trail is your global introduction to running in the wild with no obstacles! There are 40+ races globally with distances ranging from 10K to 50K, with events for all abilities and a chance to earn points for the Trail World Championships!

Course Information & Cutoffs
On race day, there will be a start line specifically for the Trail race. Make your way to the start line at least 15 minutes before your designated start time. The course will NOT feature any of the Spartan obstacles, with the exception of the Fire Jump at the end of your course. Course maps are posted to our social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter) on Thursday or Friday before the race.

- 10K: Ages 16+ (with parental permission)
- 21K: Ages 18+
- 50K: Ages 18+
Awards
Elite
The top 3 male & female overall Trail finishers for all distances will be awarded an Elite Delta Plaque.
The top 3 overall finishers will not be eligible for Age Group awards.
Age Group Winners
The top 3 male and female finishers in each age group will receive a unique finishers' medal.

Prize Money
Prize Money will not be offered in 2026 for USA Trail events.
Trailfecta
A Trailfecta is completed by doing Trail 10K, Trail Half-Mile, and Trail 50K in one calendar year.
Every Trail finisher medal now features a removable Hex coin in the center, allowing you to customize how you display your achievements. You can keep the coin in your finisher medal or pop it out and snap it into your Trailfecta Base.
You will receive a Trailfecta X1 Base once you complete your first Trailfecta. This base features three slots on the front to display the Sprint, Super, and Beast Hexes you pull from your finisher medals. It also comes with the exclusive X1 Coin pre-installed in the back to mark the start of your journey.
Trail only offers 1X Trailfectas. Trailfecta does not offer multiplier bases or coins.
No additional item is received for the Trailfecta.
Does the Trail Race count for the OCR Trifecta?
No, a Spartan Trail race does NOT count for the Trifecta. More information on the Trifecta can be found here.
Can I transfer the Trail Race registration?
If you need to reschedule your Trail Race, you can obtain a credit valid for another US Spartan event. All standard deferral procedures apply. All details of the deferral process can be found here: Transfer FAQ
